Entertainment City \| Al-Shaab

Kuwait Towers

The Kuwait Towers have become the most famous landmark in the country. These three unique towers have a dual function as both entertainment facilities and water reservoirs. The upper sphere of the main tower has a revolving observation deck with a cafeteria that gives the visitor a full panoramic view of Kuwait City and the Arabian Gulf every half hour. The top half of the lower sphere houses three excellent restaurants, while the bottom section is a one million gallon water reservoir.
The globe on the middle tower is used only as a water reservoir with one million gallon capacity. The long, thin tower illuminates the other two towers and the surrounding grounds with 96 concealed spotlights.

Kuwait Zoological Garden

Located in Omariya, the meticulously landscaped zoological garden was reopened on February 18, 1993 after two years of massive reconstruction and restocking. A delight to both adults and children, this place is not only for watching the animals, but is a center for education, preservation and propagation. Endangered species native to Kuwait are being bred here. The education center offers everyone the chance to study first-hand not only exotic animals from around the world, but also species that were once native to Kuwait fifty years ago. The research center tries to find the best way to keep imported animals healthy in the Kuwaiti environment.
Enjoyed by all, a train weaves its way among the tree shaded animal compounds. Camel, horse and donkey rides along with magic and electronic games delight the children or maybe you would like to have your picture taken with the resident snakes or crocodiles.

Ice Skating Rinks

If you would like to cool off on a hot summer day, the ice skating rinks are where to go. The first in the Gulf and the Middle East, the two rinks provide year round winter sports. The main building has an olympic-sized rink with seating capacity for 1,600. Kuwait's ice hockey team, the Kuwait Falcons, use this rink for their competiton games.The smaller rink that seats 600 can easily be covered for parties and other entertainment. Skating lessons are given by a Swedish figure skating troupe who also perform for the public.

The Green Island:

Located at the Sea front( Gulf Road), it is a nice place to take a walk or spend an evening with the children. Although it is beautifully designed, it needs more facilities of entertainment. The Green Island has an amphitheatre, 2 restaurants, a viewing Tower, a children's castle, and a wide landscape of greenery and flowers, but we doubt that you can see much of flowers in summer. There is an entry charge.

The Water Front:

The Water Front extends for about 21 k/m on the Gulf Road. It is a nice place to take a walk, watch the sunset or sunrise. Try to avoid the crowds on Thursday night. The traffic also is very bad on that night. There are many kinds of restaurants in this area , watch out for speeding motorists,some young people really drive fast and go over the speed limit. There are many attraction in this area. Try to ride on a jet ski or just take a stroll and watch the world go by.
