There are plentiful opportunities in Kuwait to buy modern clothing, household goods, cosmetics, perfumes, and many other items imported from all over the world. Good places to go for sporty clothes are the Al-Watiya Complex and the shopping street in Salmiya on Salem  Al-Mubarak Street between the Zahra Complex and Laila Galeria. Casual shoes, sports shoes, and dress shoes are on sale in all   shopping areas and malls.    Comfortable Birkenstocks, with a full range of styles,  are in the same price range. Traditional Oils, select leather goods come from Italy, France, America, and elsewhere. Handbags, briefcases, and wallets are good buys, and along with manicure sets, key rings, belts, shaving kits, and  eyeglass cases, they make wonderful gifts to take back home.

Men's and women's perfume and cosmetics shops carry almost every conceivable brand of scent and color.  There are many outlets all over the city, and every mall and souk has two or three perfumes and cosmetic shops. Watches and clocks, pens, tea and coffee cups, scarves, boxes, and silver jewelry are  some of the other many choices one has when it comes to buying gifts. Colored Iranian glassware, such as perfume bottles and lamps, and carpets from all over, can be found in malls, modern shopping areas and in hotel gift shops.    The easiest item to buy in Kuwait is gold. There are numerous gold souks, offering a  multitude of pieces in traditional Arabian designs and motifs, as well as designs  influenced by Indian Mughal jewelry. There is a very large one in the Souk Al-Kuwait  building opposite the Gulf Bank, and a smaller one on the main shopping street in Salmiya. want to take home gold jewelry reminiscent  of 1001 Arabian Nights, this is the place.
